Not sure if there is a topic about it, but who else likes this book? Talk about it here.

Its a good series. I like Richard, the Mord-Siths especially Cara, Sister Verna, Zedd, Kahlan and Nicci annoy me sometimes, and it was sad that Warren dies.

Sword of Truth is probably one of my favorite series ever. You can see a lot of Goodkind's own history and personality in what he writes. By the end of all eleven books I felt like I'd had a chat with him or something, haha.

Decent story line, but too much magic and wayyyy too much nasty graphic violence for my taste. There's no need to kill a kid by forcing him to drink molten metal or rape kids in books, it shows bad taste and disturbed mind and it does nothing to advance the story line.
It's not entirely bad, but compared to the Wheel of Time or Lord of the Rings I must say I have been rather disappointed, I had high hopes coming in to this series but they have not been met.

sword of truth with out a doubt is my favorite series. Whie I feel that the later books weren't as good I still enjoyed the series. It was an in depth set of books and really made you think. So many of the wizards rules can be applied to real life as well as the ideas. Also, what was cool, i thought, was that even though it dealt with magic, that didn't serve as the foundation or point of the books. Mind you, I love fantasy books of all types and more magic is great for me. But SOT stood out in my mind because it was part of the story and yet there was a bigger picture as well. And as for the violence. Yes, it had violent parts, it is a dark series, however it truly illistrated how evil the person who engaged in such a heinous act was. It really put things into perspective. And sadly, it isn't far from some of the horendous things that happen in real life every day. If it were an endless line of evil acts, murder and blood and such just for shock value and the book was built soly around that, then it would bother me. But the fact that it was showing the evil and why Richard and Kahlin were fighting against it made it work. I strongly believe in freedom and never taking it for granted and that is probably the biggest reason why the books meant so much to me. Richard strongly believed in ppl being free and that it shouldn't be taken for granted.
lol Just my opinion on it. lol can you tell I like the series?
And personally? I did not like the tv production of it at all. lol
